1. You just use 4 pieces in the game. Once they are mastered, you easily expend to the rest.
2. You engage in just 3 moves. No long wait until the action happens.

3. You are not losing pieces during the game. The goal is 4 in a row, so when you lose a piece you get it right back. this way you get lots of practice and you dont need to wait until the next game to leans what the piece does.

Basic rules:

Each player has four pieces: a knight, a rook, a bishop and a pawn. The object of the game is to be the first to align your pieces in a vertical, horizontal or diagonal row. Play starts on an empty 4 x 4 board and players take turns placing a piece on any open square. Once at least three pieces are placed per player, they may move a piece, capture a piece or place their remaining piece. Captured pieces are returned to their player and may be replayed on any open square.

Since everything is in danger all the time, you learn to think in chess patterns and waves, and understand how the board evolves during game play.
